Story of Origin: Christian, Muslim, Jewish story

8. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Sprit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, " Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

God in his infinite power created the heavens and the earth in one day. When referring to "light" God then brought life to the earth as well as light. God then separated the evil over the good. Created good and the potentially bad. If one follows God then there will be good in your life, he first created the world there was evil so God created light to have a balance in life. When light was created he then dismissed the evil. This is relevant to Islam, Judaism and Christianity.  Most main stream Christians and Jewish people interpret this quote metaphorically. This can be in harmony with the explanation of science, as science says that the world was created by the Big Bang. The explanation of the science predictive can only be accepted in a metaphorical sense, God is there but, in spirit creation is not an accident but science would say otherwise science would say that the world was created by accident but in the religious sense everything is put in place for a purpose. God represents 'light', there is no light until there is the sun. There are echo of the same story about the Big Bang. This quote plainly says that God is always there and the creation of earth was no accident there are never accidents.

Science

6. As religion is left behind, people find themselves in a spiritual vid... We cry out for meaning... Science you say will save us. Science, I say, has destroyed us.. We are a fractured and frantic species... moving down a path to destruction.

Science does not provide is with enough information ( it is limited to what it can explain) for the more phenomenal meaning is to turn to religion. Human beings need purpose and therefore it would point themselves in a spiritual journey to find God. It has become less common to adhere to formal religions. Religion is common there are growth to the religion of Christianity in Africa as well as Islam. Our beliefs have become more sophisticated as science is still new, whereas before science human beings constantly believed ( most still do believe) that God made the sun and everything that happens on earth came from a higher being, whereas now there are some mixed beliefs. We cry out for many : Human beings are not heartless souls they do feel for other people around them whether it be the situation one is facing or feeling sad for people that are less lucky than us. All human beings go through existential angst ( finding out who they are) working out their own meaning in life and the truth trying to make sense of life. Most people cry out for many. Science you say will save us, science can do many things but, it depends on what other people believe. Science can save a person in the point of medicine, science and religion has to co-exsist. Science can be used well such as creating new medicine and technology but, it could also be used poorly such as creating mission weaponry (ISIS and Extremist countries as well as Christianity).

7. Seen from a cosmic level, we on earth may well be puny and insignificant. But we are certainly not so unimportant when observed from our own level. From inside ourselves, we are the whole world. How can we reconcile these apparently contradictory existences: a warm internal with our own needs, emotions and desire, versus our alien external materialistic world?

A person can be seen as insignificant on this earth as it is very big. When it comes to how we view ourselves we see ourselves as an important part of this earth, we tend to view ourselves as a significant part of the solar system.

Larsen Explanation: Quote 7

The possibility that there is some sort of God looking down on us , we are very small in terms of size compared to the universe. Insignificant is something human beings questions. If there is a God it could give us some sense of significants. Human beings can sometimes feel insignificant, some might put others before themselves. A well rounded human being would not let the world evolve around them. Suggested that we suppress our needs and desires even though we cant control but learn to control our feelings. The outside world is not alienated. There is a spiritual dimension to our life.

Islam/ S. Hawking

Quote/ Text:

4. It is He who is revealed in every face, sought in every sign, gazed upon by every eye, worshipped in every object of worship, and pursued in the unseen and the visible. Not a single one of His creatures can fail to find Him in its primordial and original nature.

Allah is seen by everyone (immanence), his presence is felt and seen through every action one takes as read in the text sought in every sign ( sign meaning the actions one makes) there is no proof people are wanting to connect with God and gazed upon by every eye ( he is always watching his people) In the new testament of Romans: For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse. Allah is greatly worshipped through the Qu'aran ( Koran) and in every morning and evening prayer made as said in the quote worshipped in every object of worship. People worship peculiar things ( ex. a football team, movie stars etc.) God is behind all of this even though it cant be proven. All to do with faith it is a spiritual being but, if one looks for God hard enough and is determined they are sure of find and have a bond with God.

Science would suggest that what is around is a process of evolution and there is no proof of God ever existing.

Definition:

Primordial: existing at a form from the beginning of time

5. We are insignificant creatures on a minor planet of a very average star in the outer suburbs of one of a hundred thousand million galaxies. So it is difficult to believe in a God that would care about us or even notice our existence.

We as human beings are just a small spec in a huge planet, there are so many other important events happening in the world that it becomes hard for a person to believe in God or for God to notice us as we live in a big planet and it would be difficult for God to devote his attention to one person only without noticing other things around. Implying that one person cant have an impact on the world. Suggesting that we are insignificant and de-values us as humans. Assuming there's a God that God is loving and loves us this makes us very significant. Even though we are small it does not make us insignificant. It makes it more significant that there is a God because everything is very big.

Text:

Some foolish men declare that Creator made the world. The doctrine that the world was created is ill-advise, and should be rejected. If God created the world, where was he before creation? If you say he was transcendent then, and needed no support, where is he now?

According to their beliefs they struggle to believe that there is a God therefore they question who created the universe and if it was God where is he now. Because God is ever so powerful and immortal they start to question his existence as the world is slowly suffering they need to know where is the powerful being to come help them in the time of difficulty. Everyone that believes in God are foolish, they want God to be a physical being. There is no starting point, this doesn't point to God or shy away from God's existence. God is understood as not a physical being, God is spiritual. The doctrine, science challenges this thinking before there has to be a starting point there is no way to prove or not prove that there is a God. If God created the world where was he before creation, God was always and will always be there. If at the core of all life there was spirit where was God before. Transcendent means that God is more than us and is out there somewhere, above and beyond he is close by and is in a another special dimension. God is all around and people feel God and some people have experiences which they think that God is with them. His spirit ( he isn't here in a physical form) but, God is around us. A Christian view point would think that God is all around us and have and is walking the earth.

*Transcendents is just one view of God, assuming that God is out there somewhere and being all around

Transcendents- above and beyond ( close by: God in own space and dimension)
Immanence- the idea that God is all around us ( His loving and forgiving spirit is all around. Acts: In him we live and move and have our being)
